Bryan sprung from the shelter - needs to see specialists

Bryan is a little 11 week old male hound mix. He is mostly tan with some black on his back. You can see from the photo that he is cutie! He is weighs only 5 lbs and will most probably be under 30 lbs when he is full grown.

Bryan and Bree and Brice were brought together to a high kill shelter in rural Virginia. Bryan and Bree are siblings. The shelter thought that Brice is a sibling too but he is so bigger and looks so different that we're not sure.

Anyway, Homeward Trails Animal Rescue was able to save these puppies. Right now they are at a boarding facility in Northern VA waiting for foster homes or adopters.

Bryan is super adorable but he has some medical issues he needs help with. Bryan has mange but mange is easily treatable. He's already been treated and in no time, the small bit of hair he has lost will be grow back.

Mange, unfortunately, is the least of his problems. See those cute buggy eyes? well, because his eyes protrude, he might not be able to close his eyes all the way and that can result in corneal scarring - Bryan needs to see a dog ophthalmologist to determine what damage has already been done and what can be done to protect his eyes from damage.

In addition, Bryan has bowed legs and he seems to have a little difficulty walking. The vet who is boarding him says he needs to see a dog orthopedist to determine if he needs any treatments to make sure his legs develop properly.

This medical care will be expensive and so we are hoping to find sponsors for Bryan to help offset the cost of his exams and treatments. Please consider donating to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue in his name at http://homewardtrails.org/donate.html

We are also looking for foster homes for Bryan, Bree and Brice. If you would like to find out more about fostering contact LoisLHT@yahoo.com.

THANK YOU!!!!!
